The iPhone is Probably Coming to Verizon in March, April, or May

My significant-other’s father is a store manager for Verizon and he’s said that the iPhone will be coming to Verizon in March, April, or May.

Now, this is one of those things that you accept with a fairly large grain of salt, but everything seems to be lining up for the iPhone coming to Verizon in 2010. Let’s take a look at the facts:

  1. AT&T is being lambasted by the web right now for its network. One need only look to Twitter to see all the “at&tfails.
  2. Fake Steve Jobs’ Operation Chokehold may not have gotten AT&T’s attention, but it’s certainly gotten the media’s, and probably Apple’s as well.
  3. According to these graphs, AT&T has been spending less and less on network improvements each year, while they’ve been making more and more off the iPhone.
  4. Verizon’s Chief Technology Officer, Anthony Melone, has said that if the iPhone were to come to Verizon, it would be prepared for the extra load: “We have put things in place already. We are prepared to support that traffic.”
  5. Apple’s contract with AT&T will expire in 2010. Perfect timing.

With all these things in mind, I don’t see how Apple wouldn’t want to leave AT&T and get jiggy with Verizon. I would hold off on getting a DROID, unless you’re a die-hard Google fan.

I truly doubt that the iPhone will be coming. As much as I would love to see it switch carriers, AT&T has slowly but surely been improving their service, and Apple isn’t going to turn away from that. Besides, switching carriers now would be like them admitting “We were wrong for choosing AT&T,” and that’ll never happen.

I have a feeling that it will be coming out to verizon in the middle of 2010. Though there has been no anouncement, I belive and have hope that we will all be happy with it when it does.

It sort of is at first but then after a while it grows on you. Plus, the thing is practically indestructible as I have dropped it countless times (knock on wood) and it has survived without so much as a scratch.

    The Alias’s keyboard looks confusing.

I would say so. I HAD a enV2 but someone stole it. Now I have a razor. Ew. Lol

  7. Alex Says:

You need a new one too.

  8. Joshua Says:

LOL. That happens to me all the time.

  9. Alex Says:

My phone just rebooted for no reason. I need a new one.

  10. Joshua Says:

I’m not eligible for another phone for about a year and a half. So I will be paying the full price. I wonder what it will be.

  11. Thomas Says:

I am eligible to get my new Verizon phone the 24th of January, although I am willing to wait if there’s even a slight hint of the iPhone.

  12. Joshua Says:

I would love for this to happen. Considering I am on Verizon’s network, I would defiantly love to see the prices. Apple has a product announcement planned for the 26th of January, maybe they might tell about the iPhone switching to Verizon then. Or maybe it will be held for the Apple Tablet. Wishful thinking?
